LaFerrari
Aperta Advert analysis:
What the advert
is saying:
The advert uses
the great and renowned history and name that is Ferrari from 1947 to 2017, the
advert shows some of Ferrari’s most famous race cars.
What Ferrari is
saying is it looks at this car as not just a regular but as a driving god in a
sense and they even show it by driving it in
cities,
it even sounds like a race car
from the F1 series.
The colours they use are all
traditional Ferrari red racing colour (red implies it goes faster than anything
else apparently).
Target audience:
The age this is aiming at is
probably 30-50 and the gender it is aiming at is both, in terms of social class
it would be Upper middle class (A) and Middle class (B)
Methods of persuasion used to
encourage audience to purchase product:
The audience is given the
logo of the company which isn’t really a lot but they do compare it other cars
such as F1 cars and other race cars that date all the way to 1947. They also on
top of that use celebrity advertising in the ad by having Sebastian Vettel he
is a four-time Formula One World Champion and works for Ferrari.
There is no real USP
in the advert.
Connotation and
Denotation:
Denotation: I see a
montage of the car going from 0mph to 120mph around different places such as
cities, the countryside and a race track.
Connotation: I think
that the ad could have had more than just a montage of the car, and the
associations could have been clearer in a lot of places.
Xbox one X advert analysis:
What is it saying:
The images/ animation is made
to look very advanced and high tech making it seem more advanced than anything
in a sense, the colours they use are also quite bright and they use them to
construct models of what seems to be characters in very high definition (in
terms of graphics).
Target audience:
The target audience seems to
be focused on gamers and probably anyone from the Skilled working class (C2),
(C1, B) all the up to the Upper middle class (A). As for age, it would be
probably 12 to 20 years old. Gender would have to be more oriented at women
since the only person in the advert is a woman
but
this advert is technically also for males.
Methods of persuasion:
The advert would make the
audience want to buy it since it shows graphics and in a way, it says that this
console/ product will get you closer to realism whilst playing any game.
There are no celebrities
used, it doesn’t have a unique selling point unless I missed it.
Denotation: I see a very well
made animation with many graphical and SCI fi style movements:
Connotation: The advert overall could have given us at least some text and specifications (maybe some bold claims) otherwise people who own a console or are a gamer will be the only ones attracted to this advert.
